Babbar Family Not Invited to the Wedding
Prateik’s half-brother, Aarya Babbar, revealed in a recent interview that no one from the Babbar family was invited to the wedding. Addressing the situation humorously, Aarya referenced the family’s history of multiple marriages during his latest stand-up comedy act.
In his show, titled “Babbar Toh Shaadi Karte Rehte Hain?”, Aarya quipped:
“I agree, my father married twice, my sister has been married twice, and now my brother is getting married for the second time. Even my dog, Happy, has two girlfriends. So, I don’t mind getting married a second time, but I’m just too lazy to deal with the complications of a divorce.”
Raj Babbar’s Response: “Men Keep Getting Married”
Aarya further shared that before addressing the media, he had asked his father, veteran actor and politician Raj Babbar, for advice on what to say about not being invited. Raj Babbar’s nonchalant response was:
“Tell them, mard toh shaadi karte rehte hain (men keep getting married).”
Aarya Babbar’s Emotional Reaction
Despite the humor, Aarya admitted he was hurt and confused by Prateik’s decision. He had assumed they shared a strong bond and was surprised by his brother’s lack of communication.
“I presume someone has overpowered his brain too much. He is not wanting to connect with anyone from this side of the family. He has decided not to call anyone,” Aarya said.
While Aarya acknowledged that Prateik may have had reasons not to invite his stepmother, Nadira Babbar, he felt that their father, Raj Babbar, at the very least, should have been included.
“Life is no less than a film; someone in the house is influencing him. I don’t want to think it’s Prateik himself, and I don’t believe he’s like that.”
Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee’s Wedding
Despite the family drama, Prateik and Priya celebrated their love with a low-key ceremony, sharing heartfelt wedding photos on social media. The couple captioned their post:
“I’ll marry you in every lifetime. #priyaKAprateik.”
Prateik Babbar is the son of Raj Babbar and the late Smita Patil. After Smita Patil’s tragic passing, Raj Babbar married Nadira Babbar, with whom he has two children: Aarya Babbar and Juhi Babbar.
Before marrying Priya Banerjee, Prateik was previously married to Sanya Sagar in 2019. However, the couple parted ways in 2023.
