2 Students Arrested for Performing Dangerous Stunts in Fortuner, BMW on Hyderabad Road
In a shocking incident of reckless driving, two students were arrested for performing dangerous stunts in luxury SUVs on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR). The February 9 incident, caught on CCTV cameras, showed a Toyota Fortuner executing donuts in the middle of a five-lane highway, while a BMW performed similar stunts nearby.
How the Police Caught Them
The RGI Airport police launched an investigation after the viral stunt video surfaced online. The SUVs had their number plates removed in an attempt to avoid identification, but the suspects’ faces were clearly visible on CCTV footage.
Following a thorough probe, the police arrested:
- Mohammed Obaidullah (25) – Resident of Rajendranagar
- Zohair Siddiqui (25) – Resident of Malakpet
Both were taken into custody on Monday, and their luxury vehicles were seized.
“The students were doing stunts on the ORR Shamshabad stretch, which was captured on CCTV cameras. A video of the act went viral, leading to swift police action,” an official said.
Growing Concern Over Reckless Driving in Hyderabad
This incident is part of a rising trend of dangerous stunts on Hyderabad’s roads. Just last week, VC Sajjanar, Managing Director of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and former Additional Director General of Police, posted another viral video on X (formerly Twitter).
The clip showed a boy performing a wheelie on a bike while a girl sat behind him. In his post, Sajjanar criticized the growing culture of performing stunts for social media attention, especially on occasions like Valentine’s Day.
“These reckless acts are being glorified online, but people must understand the deadly consequences. One mistake can lead to a fatal accident,” he warned.
Strict Action Against Traffic Violations
Authorities have emphasized their zero-tolerance policy towards stunt driving and reckless behavior. With enhanced surveillance, Hyderabad police continue to track and penalize violators.
This latest crackdown serves as a strong warning to those attempting dangerous road stunts for thrill-seeking or social media fame. 🚔
